NIGERIAN FASHION

Like every country in the world, Nigerians are keeping up with fashion and it is beautiful to see how these trends are been customize to fit into their culture even if it was adopted from the western world. Below are some of the things you will find in a Nigerian Lady rock.

IRO and BUBA

Iro and Bura is a traditional attire of the southwestern part of Nigeria and it has been in existence for a very long time. Different ethnic groups have employed this  Fashion and manipulated it to their desired taste. IRO means WRAPPER while BUBA is translated as BLOUSE. The classic Iro and Buba is a Long sleeve blouse with a long wrapper which is worn in the form of a skirt, to achieve this you have to wrap the fabric around your waist. Most times, the fabric of the Iro is the same as the Buba but today Iro and Buba are been rocked in different ways and colors.

This is a classic that never dies. All over the world, this style is very much appreciated and could be worn at any time to anywhere. Am sure you guessed right, Nigerians are never left out, they have adopted this since inception and have decided to own it. Nigerians rock Jeans in different ways, it could be with a western classical top or an Ankara top, either way, they look gorgeous on Nigerian women.

TRADITIONAL VIBES AKA ASO EBI

These are usually made from any kind of Ankara prints or Lace materials, Nigerians are able to make beautiful products ranging from items of clothing to accessories strictly aimed at satisfying their Aso Ebi Fantasy.  Aso Ebi is a Yoruba word that is often used to describe the uniform worn by a Yoruba bride or groom's family on the day of the marriage celebration but today this name has been used to brand businesses.

EXTENSIONS

If you don't know, Nigerian women are the queens of any kind of extensions, as I said in my previous post, you hardly find a Nigerian without an extension, be its human hair, synthetic hairs, threads or wool in different Lengths and colours. In Nigeria you hardly come across a woman flaunting her natural hair, Nigerian women are ready to rock their extension at any time. Remember, nothing can come between a Nigerian woman and her extensions.

MAKEUP

In Nigeria, makeup is a holy grail for a large population of the feminine gender. A whole lot of money goes into the purchase of these cosmetics but just like every other female in the world, we don't care all we want is our face beat.  Some have addressed wearing makeup as a lack of confidence, being ugly and an avenue to attract the opposite gender. This difference in ideology has created a  big war between the makeup lovers and those that understand it to be painted for masquerades but the makeup lovers stand firm to their beliefs and make the most with their makeups.
