HOMEMADE FOOD SEASONING

No to Seasoning Cubes

On the off chance that you are an OG supporter of my blog, you know that I love food. I cook a ton; however, I don't share my recipes on my blog. Just so you know, I will state sharing my recipes on this blog very soon. In most cases, I upload some of my recipes online because I got into trouble, or I'm trying to save the world.

Today is one of those days, let's discuss food.

A week ago, I was told about the news that emphasis the fact that food seasonings such as stock and bouillon cubes are cancerous.

Without overthinking or do some other things, I proceeded to make my own food flavoring cubes at home. Food seasonings are a significant piece of African dishes,  I know this to be true in West Africa.

After I left home, I reduced the intake of processed seasonings. In the wake of attempting some new sauces without seasonings, I figured that I needn't bother with flavoring always. This is not to say I never need extracts, all things considered, I need beef seasonings to make stock for my risottos, soups, and stews.

Regardless of the seasoning cube I have in my possession,  I still felt the need to make some at home. In the end, I was able to pull it off.   I came up with these rocks.

They don't look incredible; however, the cubes taste and smell extraordinary. I made them out of mushrooms, salt, chicken breasts, carrots, onions, garlic, and ginger. With hydrogenated oil (trans fat), monosodium glutamate (MSG), and umami out of my kitchen, I guess I can live longer. 😉

If you would love for me to share the recipe on how I got this result, let me know in the comments section below, and I will try as much as I can to upload a piece of detailed information next week.

  2. I don't like seasoning cubes, as every time I have used them I feel like my stomach hurts after eating the food I used them in. They just don't agree with me. I love to make my own boulions in more of a paste-like form. The flavor is much better without the use of these cubes too.

  4. This is such an amazing post and very informative as well. We should learn to not use this kind of stuff for the food we're giving to our loved ones.

  5. I try to eat as healthy as possible so I don't really use processed products. It's a great idea to make your own stock cubes, I never thought about this before. So much healthier than using the ones from the store, and so much flavorsome than using none at all.

  7. This is a great idea! We prefer making our own seasonings since many contain gluten and artificial ingredients.
